About HAG
THIS IS HAG
HAG is Scandinavia's leading supplier of ergonomic sitting solutions in Scandinavian design for public and private sector. HAG was established in 2007. Production takes place at factories located in Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
The groups headquarters are located in Oslo, with subsidiaries in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, UK, The Netherlands and France. In 2007 HAG had a combined turnover of over 165 million Euro (234,629,960 USD). HAG has achieved excellent financial results, and employs over 600 people. We strive for a corporate culture where all employees take initiative, responsibility and dare to create a different and better company.
We are not designed to sit still, but for movement and variation. Even when you sit still, your body requires motion. Most of us actually sit during 80% of our productive hours, and these are hours you should exploit. All of our chairs are designed with a tilting mechanism that allows your body to move naturally.
Movement occurs without even thinking about it, and this increases blood circulation. It’s important for us that you sit comfortably. Regardless of where in the world you might sit. Since 1943, HAG has worked with the development, manufacture and marketing of unique sitting solutions.
We are Scandinavia’s leading manufacturer of office chairs and among the top five manufacturers in Europe. You will find the HAG brand practically everywhere around the globe. Our factory is located in Røros, Norway, and we have subsidiaries in Denmark, Sweden, United Kingdom, Germany and the Netherlands.Throughout the rest of the world, our chairs are distributed through our importers and agents.

DYNAMIC ERGONOMICS
HAG’s chairs respond to the human body. You control the on the basis of your need for movement and variation. When sitting quietly, the chair feels locked in position (Body Lock). In HAG’s chairs you have full freedom of movement and full control.
The common denominator in all HAG’s sitting solutions is sitting in balance - in itself the best starting point for movement. From a point of balance you can lean forward just as easily as you lean backwards. The seat front drops down as you lean forward to work and rises as you lean back to rest.
This encourages you to use your legs and is good for your blood circulation - FootControlledMovement. The chair naturally follows as you change to your next sitting position - without you even thinking about it. You can concentrate on your work while your circulation delivers the necessary nutrition to your working muscles.
There are any number of sitting positions - and the next one is always the best.
RESEARCH REGARDING SEATING
Here you will find a link to the research professor Einar Stranden, from Aker hospital in Oslo, has done regarding seating.
He has studied changes in the blood circulation, in the lower legs, when working in front of a computer, seated in a HAG Credo chair. It is well known that prolonged sitting may lead to swelling of the legs. His study shows that swelling is counteracted when sitting in an unlocked HAG Credo offering “floating movement”. You find the same movements in HAG H05 and HAG H03.

HAG AND THE ENVIRONMENT
Respecting the environment is protecting the well-being of humans. HAG operates according to the principle that every company has responsibilities above and beyond simply earning money. We have an obligation to preserve our common environment and display social accountability. We decided to become a beacon, leading the way into a new environmental era. This requires great effort and we constantly work on concrete measures and being a model for others to follow.
In 1995, HAG started to use recycled car bumpers and plastic waste for the plastic components of our chairs, and we were the first office chair manufacturer to become ISO 14001 certified, EMAS registered and ISO 14025 certified (the Environmental Product Declaration, EPD). As the first European furniture manufacturer, HAG was certified by the Greenguard Environmental Institute in the USA.
This certificate guarantees that HAG products do not contain hazardous substances or emit pollutants. As the user of a HAG chair, you will not be exposed to substances that pose a health risk or pollute the indoor environment. HAG also contributes towards reducing global greenhouse gas emissions (CO2) by purchasing certificates that guarantee that 100% of the factory’s electricity consumption comes from renewable energy sources. Our goal is that HAG, as a responsible corporate citizen, shall at all times provide users with the best possible sitting solutions having taken all environmental considerations into account.
